Krishna is the son of Vasudeva and Devaki, who was the sister of Kansa, the cruel ruler of Mathura. Kansa after hearing the prophecy that he will be assassinated by the eighth son of his sister he killed all her earlier children but anyhow the eighth child who was Krishna is saved by Vishnu and brought to the village of Gokul where he was raised up by the chief of shepherds, Nanda and his wife Yashoda.<\/p>\n

Krishna is the favorite of all people residing in the village and is always there to protect people from anything that harms them.<\/p>\n

Krishna loves to play the flute to fascinate gopis especially Radha, do a prank on them and perform \u2018secret dance of divine love\u2019 popularly known as Rasa Leela with them.<\/p>\n

To accomplish the task to kill Kansa Krishna returned to Mathura, enduring with the mission he left Vrindavan and make his kingdom at Dwarka where he marries Rukmani.<\/p>\n

Krishna also plays the main role in the Mahabharata, the war, that was between two groups of cousins, the Kauravas, and Pandavas, for the throne of Hastinapur.<\/p>\n
